Ever since Ezra (Ian Harding) was revealed as “A” in the Pretty Little Liars’ summer finale, we’ve been dying to find out if anyone else knows of his clandestine activities. Did showrunner Marlene King just give us the name of one other character who is in the know?!
“She knows who ‘A’ is,” Marlene Instagrammed earlier today, along with a photo of the Mona Lisa. Is she implying that Mona Vanderwaal (Janel Parrish) knows about Ezra, or is she just getting cheeky with the famously-teasing 16th century portrait? Maybe we’re just desperate for PLL updates, but we’re inclined to believe the latter, especially given what we know about Mona and Ezra in Season 4B.
We’ve all seen Mona and Ezra chatting it up in the promo for the winter premiere, but it seems their relationship doesn’t end (or, potentially, start) there. According to executive producer Oliver Goldstick, “It looks like Mona may have had an interesting relationship with Ezra, and we’ll explore that,” Oliver told TV Line. They will “reach a sort of agreement, [but] we don’t know what it is. Is he onto her behavior? Or is she onto his? Something is going on between the two of them. They become strange bedfellows for whatever reason.”
It sounds like Mona could definitely be in the know, and that the two baddies might join forces to find Ali. Or maybe it is just the Mona Lisa who knows Ezra is “A.” We have always wondered what she’s smirking about.
