The correct answer would be: calcium hydroxide

the substance may be lime water,ie, calcium hydroxide. It turns milky when Carbon dioxide is passed through it.

Ca(OH)2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O

But I think his answer is right. Since sugar +water is sugar solution therefore X+water will be Xsolution. So here a solution of X means X +water so the right answer will be CaO because CaO +water will Ca(OH)2 which is for testing CaO2.
