The first Modern Olympic Games started on April 6, 1896 and the Games lasted for 10 days and ended on April 15, 1896. it was officially opened by King George I of Greece. most of sporting events were held in Panathinaiko Stadium which was restored by Georgios Averoff, a Greek wealthy businessman, upon the request of Greek crown prince Constantine.
